Start sled dog race "Beringia-2003"

ITINERARY

Day 1. Arrival in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Transfer from the airport to your hotel. City tour with a visit to the Museum of Regional Studies and some historical monuments. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 2. A bus-trip to Kamchatka alpine ski centre "Moroznaya hill"
Skiing . A trip to a hot-spring area "Paratunka", walking round winter birch forest. Bathing at a thermal pool. Arrival back to town. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 3. A trip to "Esso" village, the start point of "Beringia 2003" race.
The distance to "Esso" is 530 km, a transfer time - 10 hours by bus. During the transfer a stop at
the ancient village of "Milkovo" . Lunch , visiting a the Museum of Local Lore.
Arrival to Esso. Accommodation in a small private hotel. Overnight.

Day 4. A day trip in "Esso" visiting the Ethnographic Museum, an Exhibition hall and Souvenir
work-shop. Acquaintance with the ethnic minorities - the Evens, their traditions, the culture and the common life. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 5. Acquaintance with people taking part in the dog sled race "Beringia2003". Riding the sled dogs in a neighbourhood of Esso. Cross-country skiing in the forest. Bathing in a thermal pool. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 6. A helicopter flight to reindeer herders. Acquaintance with a common life of nomadic Evens . Lunch in "Yurta" , a national dwelling of the Evens. At your option you may visit Russian sauna at night. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 7. An official ceremony of launching of "Beringia2003" race. A cultural program with the Even folklore dancing groups. A trial race for the distance of 10 kilometers. Awarding of the winners. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 8. The main start of "Beringia-2003" race on the rout Esso - Ossora . The whole distance is 950 km. Transfer to Anavgai village, the first check point where you will be able to see the finish of the first stage of the race. A traditional meeting of people taking part in the race with the locals of Anavgai village. Start of the next stage of the race. A helicopter flight to the run of the race and watching the race from helicopter. Arrival back to Esso. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 9. Departure for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. A stop at Milkovo village. Lunch. Accommodation in a "Termalny" hotel with Banya (Russian sauna) and thermal pool which is located in Paratunka resort.

Day 10. Visiting the art-shop. Buying souvenirs reminding Kamchatka.
Departure to airport for your flight.

Cost $1570 per person.
