203. Avacha Odissey

ITINERARY

Day 1. Arrival to Kamchatka peninsular. Transfer from the airport to your hotel. Accommodation in "Avacha" hotel which located near the city center, close to the central market. 40 km to the airport, 1 km to the city center. Meeting with your guide. In the afternoon you are offered a small city tour round the historical places of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The city was founded in 1740. A visit to The Museum of Regional Studies and exhibition is also planned. Overnight in "Avacha" hotel.

Day 2. After breakfast, you are offered a comfortable yacht trip round Avacha Bay, one of the most beautiful bays of the world. During this enjoyable voyage you see the rocks, named "Three Brothers", the natural landscape monument of Kamchatka. You can watch sea birds and animals in their natural environment. You will be given a rare opportunity to make exciting photos. After a lunch you will be transferred to Paratunka hot-springs area at the Paratunka River. You will be able to see salmon's spawning ground, enjoy the panorama of Viluchinsky volcano. In the evening you will be offered bathing in a thermal pool. Arrival back to the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Overnight in "Avacha" hotel.

Day 3. After breakfast you are transferred to the foot of Avacha volcano to the mountain base camp, which is situated at the height of 900 meters. After lunch you are offered an acclimatizing walk round Avacha mountain pass (1256m). During this walk you climb a hill, called Camel. Overnight in cabins of Avacha base camp.

Day 4. This day you climb Avacha, active volcano, 2741 meters above the sea. The last eruption was in January of 1991. The climbing takes 6-7 hours. Descending - about 3 hours. In the lava-full volcano's crater you will see peculiarities of modern volcanism: fumaroles and gas springs. From the top of Avacha volcano you will see the view of the Pacific ocean, Avacha Bay, the city and the volcanoes of the opposite side of the bay. In the evening you have a dinner. Overnight in cabins of Avacha base camp.

Day 5. After breakfast you leave Avacha base camp and go to the Avacha River bank, the start point for rafting. In the afternoon you continue your Kamchatka trip, start rafting down calm, picturesque Avacha River. After 3-4 hours rafting you make a stop on a river bank and put up tents. You will enjoy lunch made on camp fire and fish salmon soup. Overnight in tents.

Day 6. Continuing rafting on Avacha River during which you can watch spawning salmon, various birds and wild animals. In the afternoon your river trip will come to an end and you will be transferred to the area of Paratunka village, where you will accommodate in a Paratunka resort.Bathing in a thermal pool, rest at comfortable rooms, lunch at the restaurant will help you to relax and restore your forces. Overnight in a Paratunka resort.

Day 7. This day you are offered to make an absorbing trip to the Valley of Geysers, one of the most wonderful places of Kamchatka, which is situated on the territory of Kronotsky biosphere natural reserve. After a flight by a comfortable helicopter for 1 hour and 15 minutes you will plunge into fantastic world of nature with its geysers and hot springs. After an exciting walk round the Valley of Geysers you will be offered lunch. In the evening you come back to Paratunka area for overnight in a hotel.

Day 8. This day you leave Kamchatka, but before your departure you visit a souvenir shop and art-saloon where you can buy original souvenirs reminding of Kamchatka travel. Departure to airport for your flight
